I enjoyed a wonderful bit of local exposure yesterday morning when I represented the Tiverton Art Society at the Witheridge Tennis Club’s annual fund-raising coffee morning. I did ask TAS members to bring along their portfolio works for people to browse but no-one responded so I ended up having my very first solo exhibition!
It was terrific fun chatting with various visitors who showed a great interest in my work. One lady had her gorgeous dog with her and during the morning, when I wasn’t chatting to people, I did a small sketch of the animal and, at the end of the event, I gave it to her owner who was delighted and immediately showed it to her friends. I now have the distinct impression that dog portraits may become an avenue down which I’m being drawn (pun definitely intended!).
